Adam Sandler is all set to drop his brand new special Love You on Netflix on 27 August. His big return to the standup comedy stage since 2018’s 100% Fresh, the trailer for the special, which was first announced in February this year, was released yesterday. Sandler will also reunite with Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie for the project. This will mark Safdie’s debut as a standup special director.

“You guys are the best! I love you! I love you! I need you! Help me!” Sandler cries out to the audience in the trailer, before he is seen strumming along on a guitar while being accompanied by a keyboard player on stage. At one point, a dog makes its way up on stage. Yeah, we’ll have to wait and see what that’s all about.

With this special, Sandler continues his long-time history of collaborating with Netflix. In 2023, he had two projects with streamer—the animated musical Leo and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah that featured his real-life family. Other films he has done in partnership with Netflix include the Murder Mystery series, Hustle and Hubie Halloween.
