Aravind SA announced on Saturday that his long-awaited sophomore special I Was Not Ready Da will release on Amazon Prime Video on 27 November. The special—which follows 2017’s Madrasi Da, also on Amazon—is based on SA’s live show with the same title, which had a very successful run of over a 100 shows over two years on the road.  SA also dropped a charming little behind-the-scenes video to mark the announcement, as well as an official trailer scheduled to release at 6pm today.

“I’m getting married on November 27^th,” the comedian joked on Twitter. “Too many people to thank for making this happen. From ours (Amazon Prime + #IWasNotReadyDa) to yours. This year my Deepavali starts now only <3”

I Was Not Ready Da marks another milestone in the rise of South Indian standup, along with the release of Comicstaan Semma Comedy Pa and Praveen Kumar’s Mr Family Man (the first Tamil special to be released on an OTT platform) earlier this year.
