Azeem Banatwalla studied engineering, then worked as a writer, before turning to standup comedy. He is a member of the comedy collective East India Comedy, where, among other functions, he served as lead writer and creative director for the news comedy show EIC Outrage.

He performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2018, as part of both the Comedy Zone Asia event and the Indian All-Star Showcase, as well as the festival’s roadshow across Australia.

He also appeared as a guest performer at several events during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017. His special Cometh The Hour was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2018. His second special on the platform, Problems, released in 2019.
