Biswa Kalyan Rath first came to prominence as part of the Pretentious Movie Reviews duo, along with fellow comedian Kanan Gill. Following this, he carved out a solo career as a performer, first in Bengaluru and then in Mumbai. He has since become one of the most popular comics in the country, with a loyal following among the youth, who are drawn to his brand of snappy, yet often neatly logical humour.

His special Biswa Mast Admi was among those released on Amazon Prime Video in 2017. He also appeared on the platform’s Improv All Stars – Game Night, hosted by Kaneez Surka, and created the fiction series Laakhon Mein Ek, which released in 2017. He was one of the judges on Amazon’s comedy reality show Comicstaan.
