Australian comedian and actor Barry Humphries passed away on 22 April in Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital. Humphries was being treated for a condition following complications from a hip surgery. The comedian was 89 years old.
Humphries was known for his wide range of personas including Dame Edna Everage, Sir Les Patterson, Sandy Stone and Barry McKenzie.
In a statement his family said, “He was completely himself until the very end, never losing his brilliant mind, his unique wit and generosity of spirit.”
