“The show that finally explains what behens around the world have been thinking.” Behensplaining is a weekly show on Netflix’s YouTube channel, featuring two badass behens Kusha Kapila (ex-iDiva) and Srishti Dixit (ex-Buzzfeed India) watching and reviewing shows/movies streaming on Netflix.
Comedy die-hards will be reminded of Kanan Gill and Biswa Kalyan Rath’s Pretentious Movie Reviews, except here they’re not mocking absurd content as much as trying to figure out WTH is going on. And with these two fire-starters holding it together, it remains original and flat-out hilarious.
Through mini-sketches, interviews with cast and crew members, and character analyses, Behensplaining introduces a long overdue desi (and female) perspective to international content from a duo that already has every millennial’s attention on social media. Created in a writers’ room that includes comedians and writers Surbhi Bagga, Sejal Bhat and Sumaira Shaikh, the whole thing comes together in a quick to consume, easy to understand, engaging watch. Yes, there’s still plenty of Dixit’s facial elastics to be had, and Kapila plugs in the exaggerated Aunty avatars she’s so famous for.

The first episode reviews the wildly anticipated third season of the Duffer Brothers’ series, Stranger Things (which broke the streaming service’s viewer records, BTW, with 40 million households watching the show in its first four days).
In offering an honest opinion of the show, they recap the entire plot, a great refresher course for those who need it, and layer it with the kind of jokes that make you want to slap yourself for laughing at. For instance, how much stranger would Stranger Things be if it had been shot like a dramatic Indian soap opera? What if Demogorgon, the horrifying monster creatures, went to therapy? Are you Team Jacob or Team Edward? Decide already.
Women aren’t funny? Lol. Ok. Good luck holding onto that stalemate.
A new episode of Behensplaining drops every Friday on Netflix India’s YouTube channel. Watch the first one here:
