Aaditya Kulshreshtha—better known as Kullu (or Writer OP, if you’re a long-time follower of the OG Gang)—has had a stellar year. The comedian has been an integral part of Tanmay Bhat’s ‘Tanmay Reacts’ series, treating people to some uncanny Ajay Devgn mimicry and catchy Bhopali tunes. He was seen on national television alongside Bhat and gang during the IPL, and landed his own show on Netflix India’s YouTube channel called Keeping It Kullu. The Bhopal-based comedian is going to ride the high into 2024 with his standup tour Smooth Kullu Smooth, which kicks off on 2 December in Indore. Kullu has been waiting for this moment for seven years and he’s bringing his A-game. Here’s everything you need to know about his show.

How many shows are you doing, across how many cities?
Abhi 15 cities live hui hain. Baaki mostly 10 cities aur karenge. 25-30 cities karenge total.
HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND WRITING THE SHOW?
Keh sakte hain 5-6 saal. There are some sets in this show jo maine saat saal pehle jab comedy shuru kari thi, tab ke hain, which I still enjoy doing. And some sets are made in the last one year.
Is this already leading up to a recorded special for a streaming platform?
Matlab Amazon ya Netflix aake bolega toh mana toh nahin karunga. But right now aisa koi plan nahin hai. Releasing 20 minutes from this show online to promote the tour. Do videos aa rahe hain iss week mein.
How did you come up with the name ‘Smooth Kullu Smooth’?
It is from one of Tanmay bhai ke react videos where Rohan bhai said something quirky and I said, “Smooth Rohan bhai, smooth”. And audience ne pakad liya. Tabse whatever I say people comment: “Smooth Kullu bhai, smooth.”
Why should we watch it live?
Mazedaar show hai. People who have come for previous shows have enjoyed a lot. They keep sending me references from the show long after watching it. Show pe aaoge toh pata chalega.

Friends, partners, and parents too (agar cool hain woh toh).
On a scale of 1 – wtfamidoing, how nervous are you?
Bilkul nervous nahin hoon. Bahut mehnat kari hai pichle saat saal se isi tour ke liye. Game on hai full.
What is the one major thing that Bhopal has over Indore?
Kullu. And also the lakes.
On tour, will you be taking any books to keep you company?
Of course. My favourite part of touring is that I get to spend a lot of time alone and in flights which gives me the time to read a lot.
