DA Weekly Roundup: 6 Fresh Standup Clips To Watch While Enjoying Pakodas

By DA Staff 26 June 2023 3 mins read

DeadAnt Weekly Roundup features the best standup comedy videos and vlogs released on YouTube in the last week.

Spread the love

We’re at the halfway mark of the calendar year and it shows. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg hashed out the finer details of a Las Vegas cage match and Russia teased collapse. Meanwhile, social media was taken over by submarine memes. With a few months till the holiday season—when we can regroup before meeting again, mid-crisis in June 2024—we’ve got some banging standup clips to get you by. If only for a week.

KUNAL KAMRA – PURE VEG

Kunal Kamra has dropped part six of his 2023 instalment of standup clips on YouTube. The comedian later pinned a sombre message (from our perspective, at least) to the clip that reads, “THE END.” So, it looks like that’s that. In this 10-minuter, Kamra gets personal about perpetual party-poopers; pure vegetarians and vegans. He opens his set with a joke about how the launch of Shiv Sagar in Goa was its downfall and from there on, the comedian moves from strength to strength. A strong finish to his series of standup clips.

SUNDEEP SHARMA – MY KERALA STORY

It’s been more than a year since Sundeep Sharma uploaded a standup set. The wait has been long, but the comedian has more than adequately made up for it with a full 33-minute set which was trending on the platform’s Top 10 within 24 hours of its release. Sharma’s latest set is all about his vacation of to Varkala, Kerala. Stick around for Sharma’s classic meandering stories and hacks for when you’re travelling, especially with your partner.

JORDAN JENSEN – I WAS RAISED BY A PACK OF LESBIANS

Jordan Jensen has burst on to the scene this year and quickly amassed an enviable YouTube following thanks to her vulnerable, yet no-holds-barred styled comedy. If you were ever handed a list of things not to say, and then told to find someone to go say all of the things in the list, Jensen might be your best bet! Watch Jensen put good use to all that nervous energy in this clip, where she puts in a solid shift saying everything, everyone is just dying to say

MOHD SUHEL – IS INDIA THE SADDEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD?

It’s been two whole months since Mohd Suhel shared his last standup clip, and knowing the prolific comedian, that’s really something. The comedian’s latest set is about India’s ranking on the World Happiness Report, and it’s rife with his wry humour. The comedian shows just how adept he’s become with his comedic style as he’s able to explain why each country is in the position on the list that it’s at. If you watch the whole set, you’ll also be treated to some bloopers and a tour dates clip in which Suhel confronts his camera-induced stage fright.

AAKASH MEHTA – CHILLAR JOKES 6

The way we see it, Aakash Mehta released Chillar Jokes 6 while competing in Netflix’s influencer-centric reality show Social Currency. He went and won it too, congratulations Aakash!

In this set, we see Mehta bamboozled by an act of love by four male friends who came to the show with flowers for their fifth male friend! What? Why?! You’ll find out by the end of the clip, but while you’re on your journey you’ll hear some jokes about fathers (a Mehta staple), female surgeon and sexism, and vegetables.

SHAMIK CHAKRABARTY – WHY GO FIRST IS THE BEST AIRLINE

Shamik Chakrabarti’s second YouTube clip dropped last week and in this clip, he trains his sights on airline Go First. The comedian takes no time picking apart the airline, making fun of everything from their constant delays to their website. We’ve had our fair share of airline and airport comedy over the years, but Chakrabarti really goes the extra mile in this one. Go First employees watching this would do their best to remember, it’s not the destination that counts; it’s the journey!
