Dave Chappelle won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday, making it his third consecutive win in the category, and sixth overall. He won for his 2023 New Year’s Eve special The Dreamer, streamed on Netflix.

Chappelle came out on top in a tough field this year, taking the win ahead of Ricky Gervaisโ€™ Armageddon, Jim Gaffiganโ€™s The Prisoner, Nikki Glaserโ€™s Someday Youโ€™ll Die and Trevor Noahโ€™s Where Was I.

The win makes Chappelle the second-most-awarded comedian at the Grammys, pulling ahead of George Carlin and Richard Pryor. He’s now just one win short of seven-time awardee Bill Cosby.

The Recording Academy presented the Best Comedy Album award during the premiere ceremony on Sunday, ahead of the televised portion of the event. Chappelle was not in attendance to accept the trophy.
