The trailer for comedy-thriller Govinda Naam Mera dropped on Sunday and it features comedian Trupti Khamkar and content creator Viraj Ghelani. The Dharma Productions film stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani and has all the makings of a fun-filled whodunnit.

In the trailer, Govinda (Kaushal) is rudely (and literally) awoken from a dream about his dance partner Suku (Advani) by his wife, Gauri (Pednekar). Any hopes of a happy marriage are quickly dashed by Gauri’s sarcastic quips, a pointed gun, adultery, talk of murder and a Rs. 2 crore debt.

Manju (Khamkar), who is described on a movie poster as Govinda’s ‘badtameez bai‘, tips off the cops about a murder with her own Crime Patrol analysis of the situation and Ghelani—who is set to make his Bollywood debut—plays Govinda’s ‘sautan‘ (which means he’s Gauri’s boyfriend. That’s right).

Govinda Naam Mera is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on 16 December.
