Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor made her standup comedy debut on 29 February with a set to raise awareness about the human papillomavirus (HPV). In the 7-minute set, Kapoor talks about the importance of taking the vaccine to prevent cervical cancer as a part of Serum Institute of India’s ‘I Pledge To Prevent’ campaign. Kapoor takes a jab at the name of the virus quipping that it isn’t “the name of some SS Rajamouli movie” but a virus that can lead to cervical cancer.
Kapoor also uses the stage to highlight the importance of the vaccine by talking about timeless couples including Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan and INR 1000 crore films and idli sambhar.
Kapoor’s set comes one month after Poonam Pandey staged a stunt about her death to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
