Comedian Manjeet Sarkar shared some more exciting news on Instagram yesterday, announcing a “world tour” with his standup special Untouchable. The comedian will be performing at the York Theatre in Vancouver, Canada on 14 March and at the Melahuset Festival in Oslo, Norway, with more cities to be added to the tour soon. All shows will be accompanied by a screening of his documentary Untouchable: Laughing Out Caste, which will be followed by a Q&A session.

“I remember my dream was to be a bus driver,” Sarkar wrote on Instagram. “Then, the dream changed to being a garage mechanic. Then, a school teacher. And it just kept changing. Back then, even in my wildest dreams, I could not imagine doing a world tour with my own show or even having a passport. Well, I guess I never stopped dreaming cause it didn’t cost money and I could afford it any time.”

Speaking to DeadAnt in January, Sarkar had mentioned that he was trying to get the documentary showcased in Geneva, at a United Nations event highlighting social impact films across the globe. So keep an eye out for more announcements from the comedian soon. “This is the first documentary by a Dalit comedian,” he had told us about his directorial debut at the time. “It’s also the first documentary about a Dalit person which is not sad.”
