Nate Bargatze snagged his first Grammy award for Best Comedy Album for his Netflix special Your Friend, Nate Bargatze at yesterday’s award ceremony. Other nominees in the category included Bill Burr’s Drop Dead Years, Sarah Silverman’s PostMortem, Ali Wong’s Single Lady, and Jamie Foxx’s What Had Happened Was. The winning special was also nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-recorded) at the Emmy awards but lost out to Conan O’Brien: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize For American Humor. The comedian’s 2022 special The Greatest Average American was previously nominated for Grammy.
Bargatze’s star has been on the rise for the last few years. On the back of his deadpan humour the comedian has amassed a massive fan following making him one of the top-grossing comedians in the world. Bargatze also hosted the Emmy awards last year. He’s also set to make his feature film debut with The Breadwinners alongside Mandy Moore, Colin Jost, Kumail Nanjiani and Will Forte.
The Grammy awards were hosted by Trevor Noah. The ceremony is available to stream on YouTube.
