The trailer for the third season of Comicstaan is out! Who’s on this year? Well, the host with the most (energy) isn’t going anywhere: Abish Mathew is back on duty, joined this year by Kusha Kapila as the co-host. And the judges panel brings back Zakir Khan, Neeti Palta, Kenny Sebastian and Sumukhi Suresh.
Participating as contestants in the latest season of the talent hunt are many familiar faces who’ve been part of the comedy circuit for a while now, including Pavitra Shetty, Gurleen Pannu, and Aman Jotwani. Shamik Chakrabarti – who DeadAnt identified as the Next Big Thing in 2020 – is also on the list, along with Natiq Hasan, Shreya Priyam, Adesh Nichit and Aashish Solanki.
Through the eight-episode show, the contestants’ comedy chops will be put to the test in genres like anecdotal comedy, topical comedy, improv, and roast comedy. Mentoring them is another long list of circuit darlings, including Rahul Subramanian, Rohan Joshi, Aadar Malik, Anu Menon, and Prashasti Singh (who killed hard as a contestant on Season 1).
Spilling no tea, but giving us a quick vibe check, Zakir Khan said in a press release, “There is a certain rawness in each of the eight contestants we have this time.” While Neeti Palta is excited about a diverse format this season, Sumukhi Suresh went as far as to say that she’s picked up a thing or two from the fledgling comics.
Comicstaan 3 will be out on 15 July on Amazon Prime Video.
