In Case Toh Banta Hai, social media magnate Kusha Kapila presides over a people’s court which tries Bollywood bigwigs for their ‘crimes’. In the weekly courtroom comedy, Riteish Deshmukh acts as the ‘Janta Ka Lawyer’, levelling atrangi ilzaams against Bollywood stars who are defended by ‘Bollywood Insaaf Specialist’, Varun Sharma.
Deshmukh and Sharma go toe to toe, sparring over glamorous clientele, including the likes of Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Rohit Shetty, and Karan Johar. Kapila entertains a slew of witnesses who level all sorts of allegations against the celebrity guests. A troubled mirror (played by Paritosh Tripathi) says Anil Kapoor can’t keep his eyes off him. Vicky Kaushal’s disgruntled principal (Sidharth Sagar) says Kaushal bunked every class of his. The list goes on and with each new allegation, that boycott Bollywood hashtag looks all the more tempting!
The latest defendant to visit Kapila’s courtroom is Kareena Kapoor Khan, who teased her time on the hot seat on her Instagram feed. Khan’s trial will commence (and end) this Friday on Amazon MiniTV.
