Four months ago Violet D’Souza Monis—a fan of Vir Das—made a comment on the comedian’s Instagram post that would change the course of her life (at least when it comes to watching comedy). Monis mentioned how she loves Das’ wit and sarcasm, but never got to see him perform because she could never manage to grab a ticket before his shows sold out.

“I have never had the opportunity to see you perform, I just somehow never get to your tkts before they are sold out. It fastest finger first and I’m not good at that, being a senior. I have to admit not very phone smart. I do hope I can get to see you perform before I get too old to travel,” she said in reply to his post.

Das not only saw the comment but ensured her that the next time he was in her city, she was ensured a ticket for his show. “@violetmonis not to worry ma’am. Whichever city you live in, the next time I’m there, your tickets are on me. i’d be honoured to have you,” he said.

Over the weekend Das shared an image on his Twitter account of his meeting with Monis 18 weeks later. Monis got seats for Das’ Mindfool Tour and even met the comedian backstage. A fairytale ending and a firm reminder to get out there and shoot your shot!
