After touring with her special Superiority Complex for almost two years, Shreeja Chaturvedi is back with a fresh hour titled Pasandeeda Aurat. She kicked off her 14-city tour over the weekend and is set to take over the country with her deadpan humour, hilarious arrogance and “shagun ke jokes on Andheri”. For her international fans, Chaturvedi is making her way to the United Kingdom in November with the latest hour.

Fresh off the back of her engagement, she has a lot to say about her and her relationship with men. We caught up with her to know a little more about Pasandeeda Aurat. In the process we got her to make a shocking confession. You better be sitting down while you’re reading this.

Quick! What’s this show about?

Me and men! And two shagun ke jokes on Andheri.

How many shows are you doing across how many cities? Will you be adding more shows in the coming months?

I think I’m doing about 16-17 shows across 14 cities. Hoping to add at least 3-4 more.

How long did you spend writing this show?

There are some bits that are a year old in this. And it’s been a good 7-8 months since I’ve been trialing it as an hour.

Will you eventually be recording it for online release?

Yesss but next year.

What’s your elevator pitch for people to come watch it live?

Meri comedy free mein dekhne mein maza nahi aata.

According to you, who would be the ideal plus-one to bring to the live show?

Just for the last bit of the show, either your dad or your boyfriend. Otherwise koi bhi chalega.

Why are you calling the show ‘Pasandeeda Aurat’?

I have a bit about that IG trend in my show. And then other bits about my bf(iance). So this name made sense. And Aman [Jotwani] and Sorabh Pant also suggested it and I liked the vibe.

On a scale of 1 – WTFAMIDOING, how nervous are you?

I’m at BasMeraGalaNaKharaabHoBaakiMaiSambhaalLungi.

If you had to choose only between poha and upma, what are you choosing?

I’ve developed a liking for poha. Wanted to come out and confess.
