Comedian Kevin Hart was honoured with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humour at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington, D.C. on 24 March this year. The 25th recipient of the award, Hart was lauded by his peers including Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Tiffany Haddish and Regina Hall for his contribution to the art form during the ceremony. Fans can now witness the heartfelt performances—with a side-order of roasts—on Netflix.
“Kevin is one of the greatest comedians I’ve ever seen,” Chappelle says in the promo. “Kevin is one of the greatest men that I’ve ever known.”
Started in 1998, the award is presented to those who have made a profound impact on American society, similar to that of American humorist Mark Twain. Previous recipients of the award include Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart and Adam Sandler.
