Comedian Kunal Kamra has publicly criticised podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia following a recent post by Allahbadia on X about the professional impact of the India’s Got Latent controversy. The exchange unfolded yesterday, with Kamra accusing him of continuing to harm the comedy ecosystem while “milking” the fallout from the episode.

The interaction stemmed from Allahbadia reflecting on the effect of the controversy on his career, writing that it had taken him and his team “10 years to build BeerBiceps and The Ranveer Show,” but that “one incident” had significantly shaken the brand. He added that rebuilding would take time, referencing a Kabir couplet about patience and growth.

Responding to the post, Kamra stated that the consequences of Allahbadia’s appearance on Samay Raina’s format show India’s Got Latent extended far beyond one creator. He said that “30+ artists” were summoned by authorities following the controversy and that multiple comedy shows were cancelled, with venues withdrawing support in its aftermath.

Kamra further accused Allahbadia of “clout chasing” and described him as a “contraceptive for creativity,” urging him to stop portraying himself as a victim of the episode’s fallout. He also said that Allahbadia’s actions on the show continued to affect working comedians across the country.
