There’s more good news for Zakir Khan fans. A month after becoming the first Indian comedian to perform at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City, the comedian is set to take over our screens with the third season of his show Chacha Vidhayak Hain Hamare. He shared the trailer on Instagram yesterday with the caption, “Dil thaam ke baithiye kyuki Chacha Vidhayak Hai Humare ka season 3 aa raha hai!”

Directed by Gaganjeet Singh and co-written by Khan and Gopal Dutt, the show chronicles the life Ronny Pathak (portrayed by Khan), a teller of tall tales, who dreams of a successful political career. Alongside him are his friends Kranti (played by comedian Kumar Varun), Anwar (played by Vyom Sharma) and Avantika (Venus Singh).

In the trailer for the upcoming season, we see Ronny being firmly instructed to steer clear of politics by the local MLA Ashwini Pathak aka Chachaji (played by Abhimanyu Singh) who had taken him under his wing in the previous season. Kranti and Anwar have got their respective lives on trackโ€”the former by opening up his own bar and the latter by joining the police force. The conflict arises when Ronny can’t stick to Chachaji’s ask. We also noticed Aaditya Kulshreshth aka Kullu make a cameo as a news reporter.

“Bringing back Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare for a third season feels like coming home,” Khan said in a statement. “The love and support from our fans have been truly humbling. Their enthusiasm fuels our passion for storytelling and itโ€™s an honour to entertain and connect with them through our work. With each season, weโ€™ve seen Ronny grow, evolve, and face new challenges head on. Season 3 promises to be no different; it’s an adventurous journey of emotions, filled with unexpected twists and turns that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”

The season is set to premiere on 25 April on Amazon miniTV.
