Zakir Khan is all set to make his debut as a television host with his new show Aapka Apna Zakir. Premiering on 10 August on Sony Entertainment Television, the comedy show will feature Khan’s trademark shayaris and his relatable takes on life. In the teaser that dropped on 5 July, Khan says “Khushiyon ki guarantee hai, manoranjan ka vaada… aur sabka dil jeet lunga from baccha to dada.”

According to media reports, the sakht launda will be joined by Gopal Dutt, Rithvik Dhanjani, Paresh Ganatra and Shweta Tiwari on the show. This marks Tiwari’s return to the comedy space since her stint on the sketch-comedy show Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur.

“I am excited to do a show like this after a long time,” Tiwari said in an interview with Times Entertainment. “Comedy is currently evolving as a genre and I’ve always enjoyed being in the epicentre of change. When I was approached for Aapka Apna Zakir, I instantly said yes.”

Khan has also been making waves internationally, performing at some of the most iconic comedy venues across the globe. The comedian received a 20-minute standing ovation for his performance at the Royal Albert Hall, London in October last year and became the first Indian comedian to perform at New York’s Madison Square Garden in March this year.

Aapka Apna Zakir will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm.
