Aadar Malik is best known as a comedian but he’s a man of many talents, one of which includes acting. Most recently he’s bagged a role on the Angel Studios series Testament, a modern video adaptation of The Book of Acts. Malik plays an evangelist named Philip in the series, which premiered on 8 June.

“He really believes in the word of Jesus and he genuinely believes in helping people,” Malik said about the character, in a promo video ahead of the series premiere. “And for that he’s willing to give up something he’s worked so hard to achieve.”

Directed by Paul Syrstad, the “original series explores a historical story…with a modern twist.” The series is available to stream on Angel Guild.

In March Malik starred as DJ aka Daljeet in the crime drama series Kanneda starring Parmish Verma, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Ranvir Shorey among others. The series chronicles the life of a Punjabi man navigating his life through drugs and discrimination in Vancouver, Cananda. The series is available to stream on JioHotstar.

Malik received his MA in Classical Acting in 2022 from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. That was the reason behind his brief hiatus from the DACA-award-winning podcast The Internet Said So.
