One of the most promising talents on the first season of Comicstaan, the reality standup comedy hunt to find India’s next big comedian, Aishwarya Mohanraj slayed us with this presentation of why she deserves to win the show:

(Aside: We’re trying to get a whole selection of videos to hit the 1 million mark, and this is one of them.)

However, she did not win. Nishant Suri did. Rahul Dua almost did. And what happened there is a whole other story.

But Aishwarya Mohanraj did not let organisers simply get away with this oversight. Sources close to the tech support at Amazon have confirmed that they received follow-up PPTs on email for a year, causing servers to crash at regular intervals. Around the tenth month, when the deck contained 73 slides and high resolution images, they realised that she was serious about not letting this go. Worried about how that might look so close to the upcoming second season of the show, organisers felt compelled to award her a certificate of participation: marked A for Effort, with a gold star for excellence in communication.

Mohanraj declined to comment when we reached out to her, citing “preoccupied” as her reason.

Aishwarya Mohanraj, preoccupied.
