The researchers at National Science Foundation have revealed the first ever picture of the supermassive black hole that sits in the middle of an elliptical galaxy called Messier 87 (M87), some 55 million light-years from Earth. Scientists used a global network of telescopes and several NASA spacecraft to make this path-breaking discovery that stands to change a lot about how we understand the universe.
