Comedian Maheep Singh, best known for being a panelist on Samay Raina’s comedy format show India’s Got Latent, revealed in an Instagram post that he had to cancel his Dehradun performance after members of a particular group staged a protest outside the venue. In the video posted by Singh this morning, which is captioned “show cancellation vlog”, we can see people defacing the poster for the show titled Mummy Kaisi Hain? and threatening the manager of the venue.

“They said that if I come to perform the show, they will stage an aggressive protest because my comedy is vulgar,” he says in the video. “They’ve never even seen it, but somehow they’ve decided it’s vulgar.” Singh also mentions that he was threatened by the protestors seen in the video.

“They even threatened the manager of the mall where the show was supposed to happen,” he added. “Because of that, we had to cancel the show. They belong to a very prominent group, which also includes the name of God, so we muted that part.”
