While Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. have become the top dogs in the Indian entertainment industry with their critically acclaimed shows including ‘The Family Man’, ‘Farzi’ and most recently ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, there is another name, one from the Indian standup comedy scene, that is closely associated with these projects. We’re talking about Suman Kumar, the third musketeer in the writers room for the director duo’s projects. And their most recent collaboration, the Rajkummar Rao-Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ bagged top honours at Filmfare OTT Awards 2024 for Best Screenplay yesterday.
This is his second Filmfare OTT Award, winning one in the Critics’ Choice category in 2023 for Best Dialogue for his work on ‘The Family Man’. Suman’s directorial debut, the Tamil-language political comedy ‘Raghu Thatha’, was also released earlier this year on 15 August.
