Comedian Sunil Pal went missing for several hours yesterday after a show, reported The Times of India. The comedian was performing on the outskirts of Mumbai and was expected to return home on Tuesday. After several failed attempts to connect with him, his wife lodged a missing persons report at Santa Cruz police station. Pal contacted his family shortly after.

The comedian informed them that he would be back late on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. Film trade analyst Girish Wankhede told ETimes that Sunil Pal informed him about a problem he was caught in the middle of. “But he is out of it. He is now taking a flight from Delhi to Mumbai,” he said. Daya Nayak, Senior police official of Unit 9 Crime Branch, mentioned that “the actor was found safe and is now returning home. We are now investigating on the facts of the case.”

Pal’s wife later alleged that the comedian was “kidnapped” and he would divulge the details in an interview with The Times Of India. “Police is helping and supporting us. Everything is fine with him. We will soon open up to our well-wishers once the police allow us after complete statement procedure and FIR,” she wrote in a post on Instagram.
