In the midst of a flurry of events to raise funds for COVID-19 relief, a few Indian comics have come together for a cause more immediate and personal. Abish Mathew, Sorabh Pant, Maanal Patil, Urjita Wani and Mayur Kamble will perform at the ‘Avengers of Indian Comedy’ event—scheduled for 8pm on 18 June—to raise funds for a comedy fan named Sana who is undergoing treatment for blood cancer.

The initiative was started by comedian Manaal Patil, after he was contacted by Sana who was going through a personal crisis. “He started building this show to help out Sana. In a time where there is crisis taking over our lives, it is so good to see comics picking up causes and helping out in any way,” Abish Mathew told DeadAnt.

All the proceeds from this online show will be used to support Sana’s treatment. The tickets are priced from Rs. 149 to Rs. 499, so people can donate as per their convenience.
