Siddharth Dudeja is setting off on his debut tour, covering eight cities between August and October! The Mumbai comedian will be performing a mixed bag of jokes written over the years, and hopes to figure out the show’s theme by the time the tour is done (so that he can think about giving it a proper name). He’s pretty damn nervous. He doesn’t know why you should watch it, and he wouldn’t even mind if you just brought a cat with you to the gig. Is this what living on the edge feels like?

The show is just a compilation of all my jokes and maybe through the course of the tour I’ll find a common theme.
HOW MANY SHOWS ARE YOU DOING, ACROSS HOW MANY CITIES?
There are a total of eight shows across eight cities. Depending on how many tickets sell, I’ll either add more shows or do another round of shows.
HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND WRITING THE SHOW?
It’s all material from different times. Some of it has been written this year, some in the last few years. So, it’s an ongoing thing.
IS THIS ALREADY LEADING UP TO A RECORDED SPECIAL FOR A STREAMING PLATFORM?
No. Platforms don’t buy a show based on comedy. They buy stuff based on numbers. So it isn’t a wise business decision to sell a show when you’re not that popular because you will never get a good rate for it, according to me. Get more popular and then charge five times more for the same material.
WHY SHOULD WE WATCH IT LIVE?
If you like jokes, I guess. I don’t know how to respond to this question.
ACCORDING TO YOU, WHO WOULD BE THE IDEAL PLUS-ONE TO BRING TO THE LIVE SHOW?
Anyone who is ready to watch the show. Or even a cat would do. Or just come alone.
WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING TO CALL THIS SHOW?
For now, it’s called Siddharth Dudeja – Live On Tour. Maybe once I find a theme I might change the name.

<laughs> You guys really dug deep. It was a lockdown thing. There are many funny creators now doing it full-time and are great at it. So it’s best I focus on standup.
