Actor and content creator Kusha Kapila has firmly denied rumours that she has reconciled with comedian Samay Raina after the two were spotted at singer Jasleen Royal’s birthday party earlier this week. The speculation gathered steam after videos from the celebration circulated online, alongside what Kapila says were AI-altered images and coordinated social media posts claiming the pair had buried the hatchet following their highly publicised fallout after Aashish Solanki’s Pretty Good Roast Show.

Responding through a series of Instagram stories, Kapila dismissed the viral images as “fake and seeded”, writing, “My face is AI altered. Why would anyone spend any money doing this is beyond me. The way incel internet will stoop down to minimise me is laughable at this point.” She also alleged that multiple accounts were pushing “the same script across the board”, adding that this wasn’t an online spat but “just how incel internet will go to the pits to minimise women.”

Kapila also posted a detailed statement addressing each claim individually. Confirming that she and Raina were once friends, she clarified that they had appeared together as panellists on Aashish Solanki’s Pretty Good Roast Show, where, according to her, “there was no script shared, no contract signed, and no jokes shared beforehand. Everything was done in good faith. I had no idea what was coming my way.”

Reiterating the stance she first took after the roast aired, Kapila wrote that “the jokes made at my expense were horrible, and I stand by my stance that they should have been censored.” She added that she blocked both Raina and Solanki after the show and that it had taken her “a lot of time and therapy to undo the shame and ridicule” she felt, adding, “I genuinely wish that roast had never happened to me.”

Addressing one of the biggest rumours doing the rounds, Kapila categorically denied celebrating Raina’s professional setbacks after the controversy. “There is no record of me celebrating his downfall because I never did,” she wrote, adding that while several publications had approached her to speak against him, she chose not to.

Kapila also made it clear that the birthday party should not be interpreted as a reconciliation. “I am not friends with Samay. I will never be on Latent. We have tried to be cordial and move past what happened by making sense of it, but that’s all. We have decided to not speak of each other on the Internet.”

She further clarified that she attended the party solely because Royal had invited her. “Samay happened to be there as well. That doesn’t mean anything. The video may make it look like we hang out, but we don’t. We didn’t even interact in that clip.”

Ending her statement, Kapila urged people to stop fuelling speculation. “Stop it with your ridiculous seeding. Stop minimising women. Let’s all move the fuck on.”

The clarification comes nearly two years after Kapila publicly criticised Raina’s jokes about her during Pretty Good Roast Show. At the time, she described several remarks as “shockingly unkind” and “dehumanising”, saying she had participated in the roast in good faith without knowing the jokes in advance. She also revealed she had spent months negotiating the removal of several jokes before the episode was eventually released.
