Kanan Gill announced that he will be starring in a Norwegian rom-com Christmas As Usual in a recent Instagram post. The movie—produced by Motion Blur, a Norwegian film and commercial production company—is set to release on Netflix later this year.

Written and directed by Petter Holmsen, Christmas As Usual, is about a Norwegian woman (Ida Ursin-Holm) who returns to her rural hometown for Christmas, bringing her Indian boyfriend along to celebrate the holiday. The movie explores the resultant clash of cultures and traditions, and the tumultuous and heartwarming events that follow.

In his post, Gill said “In an exciting turn of events — I’ve spent the last month and a half filming a romantic comedy in Norway! I’m very very fortunate to have worked with a cast and crew of the kindest, coolest, most talented and hardest partying people who made filming under 100ft of snow seem easy.”

“There has been a completely unique group in front and behind the camera – but especially a shout out to the now Norwegian speaking, liquorice eating, snus addicted, Indian skier @kanangill ❤️ I love U,” Ursin-Holm said in her own Instagram post.
