The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is slated to kick off for a month on 29 March 2023. But before the main event, the prestigious art festival is coming to India with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. Two of the most promising comedic voices down under, Alex Ward and Dane Simpson, will be performing in 5 Indian cities this month.

The product of a four-year-long partnership between Indian talent management company OML and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Ward and Simpson will be hitting up Delhi (19 Nov), Mumbai (20 Nov), Chennai (21 Nov), Bengaluru (22 Nov) and Pune (25 Nov). But that’s not all, mates! Our very own Indian comics will be hosting the shows across the country.

Neeti Palta and Kanan Gill will take up hosting duties on their home turf in Delhi and Bengaluru respectively. Rahul Subramanian will be the MC at the Mumbai show while Azeem Banatwalla and Anirban Dasgupta will be in charge of the Chennai and Pune performances.

This isn’t the first time the comedy festival has partnered with Indian comics. All five hosts have performed on the main stage in Melbourne in the past to great acclaim. Other Indian comedians who have been featured on the MICF stage include Karunesh Talwar, Aditi Mittal, Sonali Thaker, Rohan Joshi and Daniel Fernandes amongst others.
