Ever since the COVID-19 lockdown was imposed, Kunal Kamra has been putting his platform and reach to work, helping front-line workers in their fight against the virus. First, there was the celebrity charity auction he kicked off in May, helping raise over Rs. 30 lakh for COVID-19 test kits. On Saturday, he announced his support for another crowd-funding initiative, this time to help the Mumbai Police. Kamra has teamed up with Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi and Mumbai-based entrepreneur Naina Parekh to provide reusable customised masks for the men and women in uniform as they go about enforcing the lockdown.
Produced by EUME, these customised khaki masks are much more comfortable and reusable than a standard N95 mask, which is only recommended to be reused two times at max. The Protect+ Pro 95 mask on the other hand is good for 30 days, and will be provided to the police personnel in packs of 3. With each pack costing Rs 300, you can help protect the men in khaki for the next 90 days by just donating Rs. 3.33 per day.
Head on over to the campaign’s website for more details and information on how to donate. The campaign has already raised over Rs. 52 lakh of its ambitious Rs. 1.2 crore goal. Go help them get over the finish line quicker!
