Earlier this week, Netflix India announced on Instagram that The Great Indian Kapil Show—Kapil Sharma’s celebrity talk-show—has been renewed for a second season. The comedy star will return sooner than expected with the popular show’s sophomore season, retaining a cast of regulars including Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek and Rajiv Thakur. “Entertainment ki baarish hogi do-bara, kyunki The Great Indian Kapil Show ka Season 2 aayega bas kuch hi mahino mein!” reads the caption on Instagram.

The show is set to air its season one finale tomorrow, featuring Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan and his mother Dr. Mala Tiwari.

“This has been a wonderful first season of The Great Indian Kapil Show,” Sharma said in a press release. “There have been many firsts and we will cherish those. We are grateful for all the love pouring in from across the globe. Collaborating with Netflix for the Great Indian Kapil Show has been a fulfilling experience and on that note, we promise not to keep our audience waiting for too long for the next season.”

The Great Indian Kapil Show made its debut on the streaming platform on 30 March this year, after his highly successful TV show The Kapil Sharma Show went off air in 2023. The first season of the Netflix talk-show featured interviews with some of the world’s top talents, including music phenoms Ed Sheeran and Diljit Dosanjh, sports personalities Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal, and Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Farah Khan, Janhavi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.

The release date for the new season is yet to be announced.
