Comedian and improv trainer Neville Bharucha has just made his Netflix acting debut in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the Aryan Khan-directed web-series that premiered today. Bharucha is part of the show’s ensemble cast alongside Lakshya Lalwani, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Rajat Bedi, Manish Chaudhari, Arshad Warsi, Vijayant Kohli and Rohit Gill.

Created, written and directed by Aryan Khan, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is a satirical action comedy that follows an ambitious outsider and his friends as they navigate the chaotic, larger-than-life world of the Hindi film industry. The Gauri Khan produced series features cameos from many of Bollywood’s biggest names, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ananya Pandey, Disha Patani and many more.

Bharucha plays the role of music composer DJ Adam. “It’s a super-fun role about a young guy who partners with [Manoj Pahwa’s] Avtar Singh in the show, and they create some really cool music together,” he told DeadAnt.

“When I initially got the call to audition for the role, I said no because web-series are not my thing, I can’t even speak Hindi,” he said. “But then I read the script and it turns out it was an English-speaking part for a South Bombay boy. Not many of those around. So I had to do it. And it was a treat to work with Aryan Khan, who’s a very trusting, very collaborative director. But most of all, I only did the role so that more people join my weekend improv classes.”

This morning, Bharucha also took to Instagram to express his excitement at the show’s release. “I can’t wait for you to check out The Ba***ds of Bollywood and send me good things,” he wrote. “I have had the pleasure of working with probably the most talented ensemble cast that I have ever been a part of. Along with a director who was there every step of the way to collaborate.”

“Enjoy the ride,” he continued. “Smell the roses because you might end up exactly where you’re meant to be. Because one day, your name is in the opening credits of the countries [sic] biggest web series ever. And remember, sometimes the dreams you come in with, may not be the dreams you end up with.
