Louis C.K. just released the trailer for his independently produced and financed comedy-drama Fourth of July. This marks the comedian’s directorial debut and first film since admitting to several incidents of sexual misconduct back 2017.
Co-written by C.K and Joe List, the plot revolves around List’s character, a recovering alcoholic from New York City who decides to confront his scathingly critical family on their annual Independence Day trip. List’s character’s wife is played by his real-life partner, Sarah Tollemache. The cast also includes comedians Lynne Koplitz, Nick Di Paolo, Robert Kelly, and Tony V.
List and C.K.—who plays List’s therapist in the film—will be touring for one-night-only screenings in New York City, Boston and Chicago. Both comics will attend these showings and participate in a post-screening Q & A session.
