Congratulations are in order for Varun Grover, whose directorial debut short film KISS just won the First Runner Up prize for ‘Indian Competition’ at the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival, 2022. In Grover’s film, a director fights against the removal of a kissing scene from his movie by the censorship boards. The film takes a sci-fi twist when the theatre in which the censorship board is screening the film begins to defy the laws of physics.

Grover’s film stars Adarsh Gourav, Swanand Kirkire and Shubhrajyoti Barat and is executive produced by Anurag Kashyap, Anto Chittilappilly, and Sanita Chittilappilly.

The film has official selections in the GAZE International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, the International Film Festival of South Asia Toronto and the 13th Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
