Podcast Playlist is a collection of the best podcast episodes from the last week to add some LOLs to your daily commute.

Spread the love

All right, you know what time it is! We’re back again with the Podcast Playlist, where we highlight our favourite listens of the last week.

In the latest installment, Sorabh Pant has a long chat with Yashraj Mukhate about all things creative, Mark Normand and Rick Glassman shoot the sh*t on Take Your Shoes Off and Andreas Rosende enters the podcasting ring with SOS VHS. For the audio-only listeners, we have the Office Ladies discussing season 8’s Lotto and Anuvab Pal and Kunaal Roy Kapur attempt to solve some new conundrums on Our Last Week.

3 Drinks Later – Yashraj Mukhate

Sorabh Pant has been riding the podcast wave like a pro. His latest project—titled 3 Drinks Later—functions as a diving board to delve deeper into the creative process, inspirations and significant life events of his guests.

In the latest episode, Pant sits down with professional bop generator Yashraj Mukhate. A friendship with AR Rahman must come with its perks and that’s precisely what Mukhate lets us in on. In addition to spilling Rahman’s secrets to success, the musician also talks about growing up as an Anu Malik fan, what content he consumes to give us the absolute bangers and Johnny Lever’s take on how geniuses work. Check it out now!

Take Your Shoes Off – Mark Normand

Comedian Rick Glassman’s editor is probably more overworked than Ektaa Kapoor’s. His podcast Take Your Shoes Off is a testament to that. The comedian’s absurdist sense of humour comes through on TYSO, complete with elaborate loading screens, audio gags, diarrhea animation and more.

This week, Mark Normand came back (for the fourth time) and took his shoes off to chat about drama in the standup scene, old-school tech and the audience’s take on new material. The two constantly find themselves in the middle of an elaborate bit and riff off each other for an incredible two-hour episode.

SOS VHS – Khalyla Kuhn

Andres Rosende, better known as Fancy B to his fans, has produced two incredibly successful podcasts—Bad Friends and Tigerbelly. Having spent time with podcasting royalty for all these years, Rosende has picked up a few tricks, and he’s showcasing them all on his brand new podcast VHS SOS.

As a host, Rosende stays true to his awkward brand of humour. He’s joined by Tigerbelly‘s Khalyla Kuhn on the first episode. There’s an easy rapport between the two as they talk about growing up in different countries and finding fame with Tigerbelly. Watch the entire episode to hear Kuhn argue why Bobby Lee is exactly like Wes Anderson’s Steve Zissou.

Office Ladies – Lotto With Mark Proksh

Just like The Office is a safe bet when you don’t have anything to watch, Office Ladies is a safe listen when you’re on the go. An in-depth analysis of the genre-shaping cultural phenomenon, Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin) share all the behind-the-scenes goss and bloopers on their podcast.

This week, they bring on Mark Proksh (of What We Do In The Shadows and Better Call Saul fame) to dissect the season 8 episode Lotto. Proksh reveals how he landed the gig in the first place, Kinsey is keeping track of all the sass that’s being thrown around and Fischer has something in common with her reel-life alter ego. Check out the episode to know what we’re talking about!

Our Last Week – Unlucky Houses. Thieving Co-Passengers

Anuvab Pal and Kunaal Roy Kapur have cemented their position as professional conundrum solvers with their podcast Our Last Week. The duo love ridiculing accepted social behaviour and dishing out absurd advice with the utmost sincerity every week in these 30-minute episodes.

Regular listeners of the podcast will be aware of Pal’s house-hunting escapades in Mumbai. Well, in the latest upload, we’re told that the comedian has finally landed a flat. But it’s never that easy with these two, is it? Kapur also has some impractical albeit hilarious advice in case you ever find yourself caught in an aeroplane mugging. Yeah, apparently that’s a thing in this duo’s universe.
