Amazon Prime Video will release Engga Hostel—a Tamil rendition of the Hostel Daze series—on its platform on Friday, 27 January. Created by TVF and directed by Satish Chandrasekhar, Engga Hostel will follow the lives of a group of students who begin their adult lives together in a Tamil Nadu engineering college hostel. 

The show will see the group of students tackle the ups-and downs of college life—whether it be intricacies of friendship, conflict or romance—eventually forming a bond that will last far longer than their stints in college.

In a statement made to Prime Video, TVF Originals Head Shreyansh Pandey, “…While the premise remains the same, this series is inherently rooted in local hostel culture but differs in treatment, parlance, and even emotions.”

The students whose lives Engga Hostel will follow are played by Sacchin Nachiappan, Avinaash Ramesh, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Saranya Ravichandran, Goutham Raj, and Dravid Selvam.
