Seth Rogen is a man on a mission this year, a mission to prove that you can in fact be very productive while also being very, very high. After launching his and Canadian screenwriter Evan Goldberg’s cannabis company Houseplant in the US this March, he’s now made his debut as author with a collection of “true stories and essays” titled Yearbook (out yesterday). As if that wasn’t enough, SiriusXM announced today that Seth will be starting his own podcast on Stitcher.
The as-yet-untitled podcast doesn’t have a release date, but it is expecting to appear on Stitcher’s comedy podcast network Earwolf later this year. “The vision Seth and his team have is to venture beyond typical celebrity-based podcasts, and that is to go deep into how a single moment can change a person’s life. We’ve seen over his career that Seth is unafraid to explore new territory, and so we are excited to follow him on this journey of discovery,” Scott Greenstein, President of SiriusXM, said in a statement.
There aren’t too many other details in the public yet, but the podcast is expected to have “rich sound design”, according to Stitcher. Richard Parks III, who has collaborated with the Flaming Lips, McSweeney’s and KCRW, will develop and produce the podcast.
“Recording and editing these episodes has been a thrilling and rewarding experience,” Rogen said in a statement. “Bringing people’s stories to life in these sort of ‘audio documentaries’ has given me amazing insight into what makes up the most impactful moments in people’s lives and how they contextualise these moments.”
