During the 10th edition of Spoken Fest, that happened in Mumbai on 21 and 22 February, superstar comedian Zakir Khan cleared the air about his health concerns and his upcoming break from standup comedy. “Break ki kahani doston yeh hai ki mere paas writing ka bahut kaam aa gaya tha jo main pichle 6 saal se kar nahi paa raha tha,” he said at the event. “Health thodi si hi kharab hai, bahut zyada kharab nahi hai.”
Khan’s statement came a month after he announced a “long, long break” from standup comedy during a show in Hyderabad on 18 January. Media outlets took his statements to mean that he was suffering from severe health issues. However the comedian has finally put that to rest. He mentioned that while his health has taken a slight hit due to excessive touring it is not an area of concern.
Khan is currently touring with his show Papa Yaar. He’ll be heading to Dublin and the United States before closing it out with eight shows at Mumbai’s NSCI Dome, SVP Stadium.
