Vir Das is always on. Three days after announcing that his fifth Netflix special Fool Volume will premiere on 18 July, he’s back with some more exciting news this afternoon.

Das is getting back to workshopping material, this time for two touring shows. That’s right. The man doesn’t like naps. He’s doing four secret trial shows in Mumbai where “on a given evening you could catch material of each show,” he wrote in an Instagram post. The tickets for the show will go live tomorrow at 7 pm. The last time he did this, tickets sold out in 22 minutes. So keep your eyes peeled for Das’ Instagram stories because that’s where he’ll be dropping the ticket link.

Das’ star has steadily been on the rise during the last couple of years with the comedian winning an International Emmy for his Netflix special Landing and hosting the International Emmy ceremony in 2024. He recently returned from a sold out tour in London. Das also has a book release slated for 4 November. The memoir titled The Outsider: A Memoir For Misfits includes anecdotes from his time at boarding school, growing up in Africa and his journey as a standup comedian and actor and will serve as blueprint for anyone who recognise themselves as a misfit and how they can make it their identity.
