In an Instagram post last night, Chennai-based comic Alexander Babu (Alex) revealed that his 120-minute English-Tamil standup-musical special, Alex in Wonderland has been slated for release on Amazon Prime Video on 23 August (Friday).

The 42-year-old Chennai-based comic, part of the Evam Standup Tamasha group, has already toured his comedy-music extravaganza across India, America, Canada, the UK, Australia, South East Asia. But if you STILL haven’t caught it, this weekend is as good a time as any. And you don’t even have to get off your couch!

The former software engineer and yoga instructor is also trained in tabla and South Indian classical music, so this is going to be the musical comedy special to beat.

Here’s a promo to give you a taste of what to expect. In which Alex tries to entice you into choosing Alex in Wonderland instead of the Royal Wedding, to which neither you nor he has been invited.

In which he tells you he’ll tackle serious issues like war in his special through music and jokes. And then throws in some jumping kangaroos just in case, and sings on the beach with an entourage of dancers to seal the deal.
