Comedian Atul Khatri, who has been signed to Only Much Louder since 2016 as a solo artist, has now decided to end his contract with them. He will no longer be represented by the talent management agency. “We’ve been talking about it for a couple of months now, and the decision was amicable. We will still work together on a project basis, I’ve just let go of the exclusivity deal,” Khatri told DeadAnt.
The decision comes at a time when live entertainment is at a standstill because of the pandemic, which has forced performers to move online and explore digital formats and focus on corporate shows till things pick up again on ground.
“Through the last year, I have mainly been doing private and corporate shows. I come from a corporate background, and I know how sales and marketing works. Since the logistics aspect is not really there right now, I felt it was better that I handle things myself with my own team,” he explains, adding playfully, “Also I’m an old guy, I want to work in a (very) particular way!”
