The first day of the New Year is so painful, holy shit. Between assorted regrets and a whole lot of FOMO as you scroll through your phone catching up on what everyone else did, it’s a whole other kind of hangover. This year, Netflix is helping you stay in bed with a marathon session of stand-up comedy (as if the platform hadn’t already destroyed what’s left of your active social life). Forty-seven new specials from comedians around the world drop on 1 January this year–that’s a cool of 23.5 hours of brand new material. Assuming you do nothing else that day (and why should you?), that’s enough comedy to help you sail through the first day of the year and LOL yourself into the second.

The 47 comedians that showcase 30-minute sets on Netflix’s titled Comedians of the World are from 13 different regions of the world, with Aditi Mittal, Amit Tandon and Atul Khatri repping India on the roster. (All three Indian specials were shot at a Netflix Specials Live event in Famous Studio, Mahalaxmi, on 22 August.)
