Zarna Garg is set to get her own show at CBS. Titled Zarna, the multi-camera comedy will trace Garg’s journey from immigrating to the United States, completing her education, working for 16 years as a stay-at-home mom before pursuing a career in comedy. The show is being produced by Darlene Hunt, Mindy Kaling’s Kaling International, Kevin Hartโs Hartbeat and Warner Bros. Television.
Gargโwho first rose to fame on TikTok and Instagram with her content about immigrant mothers in Americaโbecame a notable figure in the standup scene after winning the comedy reality show Lyft Comics produced by Kevin Hart in 2021. The show featured up-and-coming comedians telling jokes while disguised as Lyft drivers.
The comedian released her debut standup special One In A Billion last year on Amazon Prime Video. She also toured with comedy legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on their Restless Leg tour. Garg was also part of Apple TVโs Gutsy starring Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. Gargโs other accolades include the 2021 Ladies of Laughter Award and a nod from the Austin Film Festival for her screenplay Rearranged with the Best Comedy Prize.
