Content creator and actor Kusha Kapila is set to share the screen with Divyendu Sharma (credited as Divyenndu), Kabir Bedi, Vinay Pathak, Mukti Mohan, Bhagyashree and Aditi Govitrikar in Hotstar’s new comedy-drama series Life Hill Gayi. The teaser for show dropped on 12 July followed by the trailer on 19 July. Life Hill Gayi will be available to stream from 9 August.
Directed by Prem Mistry and produced by Himshrri Films, the series chronicles the lives of two bickering siblings (Divyenndu and Kapila) who have been given the task of revamping their grandfather’s (Bedi) hotel in the quiet town of Panchmoli. The one who manages to complete this task is entitled to their grandfather’s inheritence. All hell breaks loose when the duo starts hiring staff to run the establishment.
“Divyendu is the most fun person to be around,” Kapila told DeadAnt. “Initially I was in awe of him, seeing people fanboying/girling over him on our way to the shoots. It gave me a very real insight into the the impact his characters have left and how deeply that impact has penetrated.”
“He was so kind and helpful, never missing a single opportunity to crack a joke. But it was his honesty, willingness to extend himself for his co-stars and presence of mind to make every scene better that I looked up to,” she added.
The series also features industry stalwart Vinay Pathak as the siblings’ father. His work in cult classics such as Bheja Fry and Khosla Ka Ghosla has cemented him as one of the leading comedic actors in the country.
“Vinay sir is a legend,” Kapila said. “His stories were always the best part of waiting between takes. His life is so rich, his experiences so vivid and diverse that I had so many questions too. The major thing I learnt from him was to not take oneself and everything around too seriously. He knows the art of performing inside out. Heโs done it and aced it and yet there is something very childlike about how he approaches things. I love that.”
This series adds one more credit to Kapila’s growing filmography, which includes films Thank You For Coming, Selfiee and Sukhee as well as web series such as Dehati Ladke and Masaba Masaba.
