This week, Punit Pania kicks off the second season of his show Beyond The Laughs with Jaspreet Singh, who opens up about fatherhood and being a minority in India. Meanwhile, Sean Evans tests Julia Louis Dreyfus’ heat tolerance as he unearths anecdotes from her illustrious career and Scott Aukerman is joined by Fortune Feimster on Comedy Bang Bang! to discuss her time on set with The Terminator himself. To top things off, Kautuk Srivastava uncovers lore about India’s Carmen Sandiego aka Mr. Natwarlal on Secondhand Stories.

Beyond The Laughs w/ Punit Pania – Jaspreet Singh

Beyond The Laughs is a treasure trove for anybody from the comedy industry. Punit Pania’s intimate podcast delivers precisely what the name suggests, providing insight into our favourite comedians’ creative processes and thoughts.

For Season 2’s premiere, Pania invited Jaspreet Singh back on the show. The two have an engaging discussion about the representation of minorities and the common stereotypes they face, how important networking is in their line of work, and walking the line between socially relevant and socially relatable content. This hour-and-a-half-long chat will leave you with a lot to think about.

Monday Morning Podcast w/ Bill Burr

Bill Burr’s legacy rests on his ability to sneak in comedy nuggets while ranting about the most basic things in life. He doesn’t need a reason. If it exists, he’s going to find a reason to get pissed off by it. On his show The Monday Morning Podcast, Burr treats us to these angry rants because… Well, that’s easier than putting out a special every week.

Yesterday the comedian was up in arms about basketball moves, Scottish history and get this… door knobs. See, we told you. If it exists he’s going to find a reason to be angry at it.

Hot Ones w/ Sean Evans – Julia Louis-Dreyfus

YouTube talk show/podcast Hot Ones is a fan favourite. The premise is simple, disarm the guests with scorching hot chicken wings and candid questions. It’s a deep dive into the lives of some of pop culture’s biggest names and this week, host Sean Evans is joined by comedy royalty Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

A decorated actor and recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humour, Dreyfus spills the deets about her time on the sets of Seinfeld, how stunning Marvel sets can be and her upcoming dramatic comedy You Hurt My Feelings. But can she handle the spice? Watch the episode to find out.

Comedy Bang Bang w/ Scott Aukerman – Fortune Feimster

Comedy writer and co-creator of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis Aaron Aukerman is a big name in the podcast industry as well. The co-founder of the Earwolf network also hosts the highly anticipated Comedy Bang Bang podcast, which features guests from the world of comedy. The show’s open-door policy also adds a surprise element to the proceedings, resulting in some great crossovers, games and comedic revelry.

Fortune Feimster was the guest of honour this week. Working with Arnold Schwarzenegger must come with its perks. Feimster—who recently worked with him on Netflix series FUBAR—bares all about The Terminator’s on-set quirks. Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Weber and content creator Mr Monster also waltz in to join this hour-and-a-half long conversation.

Secondhand Stories w/ Kautuk Srivastava

This might not be your traditional podcast but we’re going to take the liberty of calling it one because… why not? Kautuk Srivastava (part of the incredibly successful The Internet Said So podcast) is mining the history archives to uncover some lesser-known “histories, mysteries and unbelievestries”. Titled Secondhand Stories, Srivastava’s immersive narration is what makes this show featuring short stories so compelling.

In this episode, Srivastava regales us with the story of someone who sold the Taj Mahal thrice. Yes, you read that right. No, he’s not talking about Bunty Aur Babli. Natwarlal—a word that has become synonymous with cheating—was our country’s most successful conman. This is his story.
