Samay Raina’s chess tournament Comedians On Board has a new winner! Tracy Viegas, the wife of Kenny Sebastian, clinched victory in the tournament’s eighth edition, COB: Homecoming, and is now part an elite group of winners including Aakash Mehta, Anirban Dasgupta, Joel D’Souza and Samay Raina. In addition to humbling all the favourites, Viegas won INR 4,00,000 for winning the finals. Competing in her first-ever COB tournament, she first beat Sumit Sourav in the quarter-finals, Vaibhav Sethia in the semi-finals and finally Vivek Desai in the final match of the tournament.

In addition to finding a new champion, this edition of COB was as action-packed as it could get. Internet personalities Puneet Superstar, Sagar Thakur aka Maxtern and Deepak Kalal wreaked havoc in the first exhibition match of the tournament. The top favourites were knocked out on Day 1 itself, with Sethia coming out on top against Raina in a nail-biting match and Desai getting the better of D’Souza. And to top it all, five-time World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand joined the stream for a quick tag-team match.

Now that Raina has been dethroned as the best chess player in the Indian comedy scene, he’s looking forward to getting back to streaming and doubling down on his preparation. That’s a silver lining for his fans who were patiently waiting for two years to see him online. And who knows, the next COB might be just around the corner!
