‘Ted Lasso’ Dominates The Comedy Categories At This Year’s Emmy Awards

Following last year’s mostly virtual event, the Primetime Emmys were back for an in-person ceremony in Los Angeles this year. Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed sports comedy-drama Ted Lasso won big, picking up four awards out of the 13 nominations it had received. Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein won for their acting chops in the series which also came out on top in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. Hacks and Saturday Night Live also picked up multiple wins including Best Guest Actor awards for Dave Chappelle and Maya Rudolph’s performance on the variety-sketch comedy show. Hamilton beat Bo Burnham’s Inside and Dave Chappelle’s 8:46 to finish first in the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-recorded) category.
